Go Google then come back to ACN at Consultant level with higher pay.
Google adds more value to your resume than acn
Go to google. After you demonstrate skills and interest, explore other positions - there's plenty.
Op the best way to increase your pay is by jumping ship and taking a new job... take google at 15-20% increase of your salary... do 2 years at googs... then apply at accenture at an increase of15-20% of your salary... you are in an awesome position.... hope you see the opportunity
Hmm thanks for all the advice, for some reason industry jobs scare me, doing the same thing over. The advantage I see at acn is , I live at home with parents in NYC , I can save more money and also work at different industries, technologies and be flexible. At Google, will be stuck in one role, plus have to move to SF cost etc...but let's see how the interview go and the comp I get.
Yea when I went thru the process I mentioned that the salary was kind of light and they said it only makes up a portion of the overall comp, didn't get far enough along to find out what the additional $$ was, maybe one of the folks from google on here can chime in
You work at ACN... you better run to Google :) Google will open more doors for you, and worst case, Im sure you can come back to ACN
I made final round at google...i feel like there are smart people there but the offer made to me was actually less than what I make base at acn but they promised equity and awesome healthcare...in the end after speaking with 4 senior people I felt like their go to answer for a one questions I posed was "bc we are Google" so we don't really have to tackle many hurdles or work as much to establish our credibility...i found there are a lot of smoke and mirrors behind the Google name
I'm wondering if Its worth to go though the interview process, also the role is more like research role which is not what I was looking for...part of me just want to go through the process for the experience and another part of me just want to forget it and bet on my promo from SA to COns at acn...
What sort of stock options / grant package are they offering,
No comp details yet , but it's people analyst role and I checked on Glassdoor and the numbers not looking good. But I guess having Google on your name carries weight. At the same time not sure if analytics in HR will be good experience. Let's see, will go through interview and see how it goes.
All the best, OP!
I worked there on project for acn. If you can do that it doubles as getting you GOOG experience while staying in the acn umbrella. Plus acn covers all the other stuff. Get to enjoy all the benefits without having to pay to live there
Yea they said after the final interview, I will have comp discussion with them. Did you made it final? Just spoke to them and 4 interviews and case test SMH. Gotta prepare now so share any tips
What’s your current role at Accenture?
Sr analyst
OP- 115 salary is still better than our C1 salaries. Plus your shares will vest in a year there
A5 can you give me some pointers on interview? Also what position did you interview for?
Don’t Google people pretty much live at there jobs? Even more than Consultants? Hence all of the amenities and such?
OP was referred by my old boss who is head of analytics for an analytics lead position in ny. feedback I got was I didn't seem enthused about the position...in all honesty I think they want you do have a good "culture" fit or as they call it be "googly." enough was asked the gamut of the typical interview questions like name a time of success or what was your biggest challenge. Also asked a lot of scenarios where A and B are challenges and how would you dissect and provide recommendations.
