You are doing your job...not sure why you feel entitled to negotiate
Well you’re going to Kansas so a vacation might be a bit of stretch 😂
"Doing this for him" lol for doing your job? While it's cheaper to have a local office do the count, it's easier to have a team member do it because then you don't have to explain it to someone over the phone. He's doing YOU a favor by letting you travel.
It sounds like you have a horrible attitude. There are plenty of people overseas who would be more than happy to go to Kansas for an inventory count. Even after the international airfare, it would probably still be cheaper for the firm.
I agree with AA1 - you aren’t doing a favor. You’d be doing the inventory count regardless. Your manager would not be
Nothing, do your job
Yeah dude, just do what he tells you to do
I have to drive 4 hours to Mississippi for an inventory job as soon as I get off the plane back from Christmas vacation. Quit bitching and thinking about "what can i negotiate for doing this" and do your job and you'll get further ahead with your career.
Kansas City is a fun town otherwise there’s Manhattan, Lawrence, Wichita. See that part of the US probably not going on vacation there if Lawrence or Manhattan see KU or KSU. KC has Power and light a nice sterilized area, midtown, has new American restaurant and bars and go wait in line at Joes for great BBQ or really anywhere, the original gas station location if you can . Sadly I’m guessing you’ll be in the middle of nowhere and If you’re in a town of 500. Likely. McDonald’s and Hampton inn. It’s a day. Be safe driving with snow and wind and if you can hope it’s a 12/29-12/31 (early) or earlier and you’re not in a motel on NYE. Warning I visited KC for a day total and just hope it’s not a scheduled 12/31-1/1 unless you can speed thru and be done on one day
Go do the count and go home
Depends on which part of Kansas you’re going to?
I actually travel frequently to Kansas so I can recommend stuff. What city are you going to?
I also don’t see a point to negotiate.
