Maybe some perspective might be of use to me. I’m transitioning out of the service and I’ve positioned myself decently to be competitive in the market. I’ve got two offers from great companies. Biotech and Healthcare, both on the Human Capital Team as an Employee Relations Consultant. I have a graduate degree pursuing a Doctorate, LSSBB, ScrumMaster, SPHR, and PMI-ACP certified. I know this is personal and dependent, but what should I be considering as a commensurate salary?

You will be making a minimum of 250K TC if you go the technical route as a Scrum Master.

Then again I guess that’s what getting a job is for, getting that TC experience. Thanks for the additional info. Much obliged.

Meta just ran comp for me while I’m deciding which team to join.

Non-tech role (UX)- IC5
YOE 12
Low-to-med COL

He said my first year TC would be $160-175 (base around 130-140). This is a pay cut for me.

I’m at hiring committee phase for Google for a people manager role, so it’s a level up at least. Comp is still a mystery.

I’m admittedly disappointed in that number from Meta. Does this seem fair? Should I expect similar from Google? Any thoughts?

Just had a negotiation end. I am proud of myself though, for valuing my skills. I had a company offer me less money than I’m currently making….and while the role would’ve been great, we are in an era of high inflation and gas prices. I also would’ve been leaving a totally remote role to go to a hybrid role, so I had to factor gas prices in as well. Moral of the story, value yourself and your skills!! And stand your ground even if it’s a very well known company.
