USI Insurance brokerage and consulting - thoughts? A recruiter reached out to me via linked in and I was wondering if anyone had any opinions on this company. They seem to have decent reviews on Glassdoor but I was hoping to get more insight into workload and comp. Thanks in advance! USI

I mean... I feel like PE Ops roles are always around. Is there something particularly exciting about this one that's making you walk away right before the carrot that drives consultants? If you've seen the partner lifestyle and decided "nah, that's not for me"... Then go for it.
Yes from what I understand comp will be equivalent to better, and hours will be 50-60 with less travel
I would take it. Made a similar transition as a junior EM and I’ve been very happy
Comp is higher than MBB, and WLB usually a bit better
The problem is so many firms and performance and culture is varied. I had to leave my first firm because perf wasn’t good and I didn’t have the knowledge to catch that. I would really double click to understand how much your carry will actually be worth and find out more about firm culture
Thank you for the tips!
Congrats on the role. Can you share details on TC range and how you got the opportunity?
Ah ok so partner is more like AP at other firms
Take the offer. You cannot imagine how much happier life is working in PE Ops vs MBB/strat consulting
My personal experience has been better WLB, greater focus on outcomes and pay all better. The only caveat is MBB partner pay accelerates in a more structured well defined way.
Make the move. Consulting is a bit soft at the moment, you can always come back.
How does PE Ops compare to a value creation role (vp level with equity package) at a PE portco?
What what’s the size of the AUM?
What is your background OP? portco ops is also my long term goal
Take it! Only downside is career path is less straight forward and depending on which firm you’re going to brand might not be as strong. Congratulations!
