Hi all, recently in touch by Spotify recruiter for a Sec Engineer position for remote EU and was told that range was 60-80 out of base salary and equity. Had 2 years of security experience out of my 4 years. Was also told that there is no bonus scheme or no sign in bonus 😕 Not sure how I feel about this tbh.
What do you think?

Implementation gets a bad rap. Our implementation folks get paid the same, promote the same, and do a ton of overlapping work with our generalists. They just staff on more ops heavy projects and tend to do more client facing work. Also, more emphasis on work experience than academic pedigree in hiring
I wouldn't call it project management, and I would say that it's work that's always been done, just not with a formalized role/title. I see it as a response to the general shift in consulting in general. Pure "strategy" work is less valuable as the speed of change in business increases. 10 years ago there was much more value in a final deliverable being a binder that detailed a 5 year plan for the business unit. Today that's frequently obsolete in 6 months. What clients are increasingly asking for is for us not to leave after building the plan, but to stay on board and help them adjust/adapt the plan as it moves forward. That's the idea behind our implementation practice.
Yep. It's not implementation work as big 4 or Accenture would do and that's not how it's sold or what it competes with. Our implementation people work in small teams like strat folks. It's sold as part of a long term business transformation generally, so we'll package analytics, strat and implementation. The idea is that we steer the implementation process, not that we physically do the work. Sort of the same way BTO is our IT practice but doesn't actually do IT work...it helps develop an IT strategy

I'd appreciate a candid e-mail exchange with a willing McK I person. If you're open to it: hmxlt@slipry.net
OP aren't you a strategy consultant? Why go into implementation
Thanks McK 1, that's my understanding and I'm glad you affirmed it. Most of what I do today is around strategy implementation. I'd like to stretch my legs with a new role that combines consulting and aerospace.
@McK1, pay is the same even at the EM and above levels? If so, how do you guys justify higher bill rates to the client for implementation work?
Mmm, would you say then it's more along the lines of project management? If so, who's doing the actual implementation? Also, was that function previously done by McKinsey management consultants?
