I have interviewed in BNP PARIBAS and got selected, final HR interview also done. Submitted documents on 5th sep including salary slips, ctc breakup, etc. How much time does it take to generate an offer letter.
With so many people reportedly leaving consulting, I’m wondering how common is it to leave for less TC? MBB comp $200k+ at 27. Do most people get increases above that or just go to jobs sitting at $150k but that “have better WLB”? *Not looking to include those that switch to industries with intentional disregard about comp (eg public sector, charity, teaching etc).
ACN fishes. Salary check for Manager in S&C, London office? Got an offer for £79k base. Should I ask more? Feels like lowballed.
5th year in house associate looking to join a mid size law firm of roughly 150 attorneys in nyc doing corporate finance. Any insight on a reasonable starting base salary offer?
How adamant is ACN with taking back bonus $ if you leave the firm? I got $10k relocation bonus 10 months ago, have to pay it back if I leave before 12. 😭
Fixed income Credit analyst in boston. Make 60k +15k bonus. Sitting for level 3 cfa in June and have my CAIA designation. 10 vaca days/ year. Am I getting screwed?
I have two offers - same comp: Big4 A - I used to work there so I have some network and connections. But it’s a specialized group in niche industry (good balance of provision and compliance) Big4 B - never worked there. It’s a provision only group specialized in tax accounting but no specific industries (probably will see everything) I value my network especially in the middle of the pandemic but I don’t really want to be confined in a niche industry. Provision > compliance. Any advise? TIA!
Would you rather work for an older, more established company with lots of employees, average salary and a slow climb of the ladder to leadership? OR Would you rather work for a relatively new startup with 2000 employees, GREAT salary and quick career progression, but alot of learning because it’s a startup.? P.S. both companies are known across the globe.
What is the typical M&A integration manager comp for tech industry? 5YOE, M&A integration consulting background
Suggest stock tickers to look into here, bonus points if you share a blurb or two of DD you've done on it :)
For benchmarking I think it’d be helpful for all on here to see starting comp. (undergrad or MBA) at top consulting firms: Firm: Base salary: Total possible per. bonus: Profit share: 401K:
Not comp related but a question on references: I’ve only had 2 direct managers, current one is nice but I can’t let him know I’m interviewing. Previous one was a bully and I made clear that I cut contact with him when I left (he later had to contact me for non-essential work related stuff but I declined to talk). I have other references I could use, but want to prep for situation when employers ask “why can’t we talk to your previous manager.” Thanks!
Daddy D is throwing around some pretty crazy referral bonuses right now. If I can hit four referrals, I’ll split evenly among all four + myself. Up to $10k per person and at least $2.5k per person. Put it in escrow and everything. So if you’re looking to change firms, a new opportunity, etc. DM me. Can easily negotiate a nice sign on bonus, and my offer should sweeten the pot.
Help a socially awkward fella out. Got a large bonus from a consulting project team with personal note ccing the other key member. I didnt know how to respond but did say thank you to the director in person. Should i still reply to that email?
Looking to make a lateral move within my department at a manager level. I work in corporate services. What can I expect in terms of salary increase? Seeking advice for negotiating a bump in pay for a lateral move.
How often does your billable time get written off? Does it affect your hours vis-a-vis meeting yearly requirements and bonus? Tips for minimizing write offs and partners who ask you not to bill time?
Interviewing for jobs right now and all of these places have interview processes with 4-5 rounds. When did this become the norm? I am exhausted and all of my “doctors appointments” are starting to look suspicious.
Is KPMG Tax Ignition- Data Analyst the same as the rest of the big 4 tax tech. Do you guys do programming with Python, R, and SQL?
Interviewing at McKinsey from a big 4 consulting firm - currently an engagement manager interviewing for an engagement manager role on the partner track - comp at big 4 is currently $165k base, what’s a reasonable amount to ask for at mck? I got an Ivy League exec mba in 2020 as well, which hasn’t yet been reflected in my big 4 comp (we mostly didn’t do raises because of covid last year). Trying to understand how much higher mck might be willing to go?
I just recently left big 4 in July to pursue a role at a fintech company. It seemed great during the interview but once I got here it was very unorganized, not clear which team I would support, etc. Long story short, I was told we would have a hybrid work schedule and we are now required to go in-office full time 5 days a week and there have been a ton of layoffs recently. Should I stick it out or look for something else even though I’ve only been here 2 months?
Asalamualaikum everyone, hope everyone had a great thanksgiving holiday and some Black Friday shopping with family and friends? This is my first time in this bowl and I’m liking what I see so far.
Whose getting beaten by ATL weather?
Based in DC, United or American? DCA seems to lean American which is nice for proximity, but it’s smaller. Sub question: which lounge memberships is better? I have the option to expense one of them.
Flying for personal reasons this weekend and the Delta flights I have been on lack any sort of urgency to get us to the destination. Is this normal at Delta or during non-business hours in general?
Taking some time off. Need some book recommendations. Some light interesting non-fiction. No self help or management books. Just interesting topics that won’t make me think about work.
@partners - I have two opportunities. One is to lead a group for a corporation (industry). The other is to join another consulting firm, doing the same work that I am doing now. While the comp will be better to stay in consulting and I do like the idea of becoming a partner one day, I am intrigued with the steady industry role... any advice?
Feeling that my brain has been on “auto pilot” mode for years. I am Principal in one of the top consulting firms, promoted on fast track basis, so have not been “lazy” and doing good at work. But everything feels the same, nothing gets me intellectually stimulated anymore, and now I feel like if the trend continues, I might lose my ability to adapt and learn new things altogether. Does anybody else feel the same way? (Contd).
What happens if I don’t file a state return if I’m a non-resident? I spent 6 days in 2020 on a project in California and my earnings were around $4k. My company withheld the appropriate income tax. The withholding would cover the tax obligation as long as they don’t know my overall income. Anyone ever live life on the edge and not file for small projects/earnings?
Let’s pretend we’re holding companies. I’ll start: No, we can’t hire an extra writer even though you’re clocking 70+ hours a week. BTW, our contract with your client caps billable hours per employee because they know we don’t pay overtime. Here’s a non-billable code you should start using for the rest of the year.
Received an invite for a superday very quickly after applying to Goldman. Recruiter never sent me the zoom password and then the password failed to work so everything started a full 15 minutes late. Interviews went great including a “they’ll definitely be a second round” but then I received the rejection email the next day. Do we think the tech issues played into that significantly or just my interview not stacking up to other candidates?
Applied to a job at google but curious if someone can also tag me as referral so my odds are greater for an interview?
Has anyone stamped their US H1B visa from Cananda (non- canadians) recentlt? Need to know about the process, any complications etc.
I need some advice. I got a new job back in may of this year. Very excited for a new opportunity to learn some new things and get a higher paycheck. I started and have gotten a few projects but they haven’t consistently been giving me hardly any work to do. I’m not resourced enough. I told my manager I have a lot of free time. I also work fully remote. I am feeling very unfulfilled and not sure what I should do next. I am very self motivated and want to make great work but not sure what to do.
