I've a question on what sections to put on a regular resume. I see some people are using consulting style resume for outside companies as well. Do you think it's a good idea to devide work experience by projets? Or is it better to have "projects highlights" separate from work experience.. something like: intro>functional expertise> project highlights>work experience>education?

Hi Everyone - Need some insights. My PERM process was started by company in Feb’22 (currently awaiting wage determination, submitted to DOL in May’22). Its been months and DOL is working on requests from Jan’22. My H1B expires for good in Oct’23 (with all the recapture). Is there any chance I’ll have my PERM completed by then? Other than citizenship, are there any other benefits of having a baby in the US vs in India? My wife and I may not be settling in the US, depending on what we decide over time. Hello Fish, looking for tax advice. I have quite a bit of savings in my home country, India, all earned from my previous job in mid 2010s before coming to the US. Those savings stay there as stocks. I have reported my cumulative savings every year on the FBAR IRS form. Besides this, is there anything else to do? I don't actively earn any income in India, and all I receive are dividends.

Anyone still use a pager? I feel like I get weird looks sometimes for carrying mine around but I came from industry and this was more common, not in the consulting environment from what I've seen 🤔

One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.

I miss research and writing. Is a PhD in Business Administration useful at an M7? Seen equal to an MBA? Ideally I’d like to jump into corp strat but for now want to go back to being a nerd

Does anyone regret joining a boutique consulting firm? I signed with a startup out of college (spring 2020) whose founding partners were all partners/Sr leaders at a few T2s. Our firm is super small (dozen FTEs) but does really good work (we charge premium rates and work super cool projects).
