I am similarly burnt out. However, I question whether most firms would give 6-10 weeks. Especially paid.
You could try going on medical leave (FMLA) or use PTO. But 6-10 weeks is extreme. I’d say go in with a position of 6 and be willing to come down to 5
need a note from a psychologist addressing burnout and it’s considered short term disability

Generally speaking 6-10 weeks is a tall order. How long have you been with your firm?
I something similar one time- I was only able to get 2 weeks after a five year track record.

Follow up- when was the last time you’ve taken time off? Id start with a full week of vacation completely unplugged, set an put of office and completely forget work

You want to leave and come back or leave to search for a new job? Id say contact your firm’s EAP line. They may have some options for you to assist with getting a request like this approved.

I'm so sorry to hear your experience SD1. I hope you get your promotion and leave. That's really no way to live when you don't enjoy it.
