Hey guys, Since I am working in Deloitte and right now, I am working from home. I want to go Nepal for 2 months and I want to work from there. Do I need to tell my manager or simply I can go there and start my work. Is there any obligation?
Note- I don't want to tell anyone. Since it may backfire sometimes
McKinsey & Company I am joining the McKinsey & Company Boston office in late July and searching for housing in the meantime. If I could get some insight on the ratio of days in the office vs work from home that would be super helpful!
If I need to come into the office regularly I will try to find a place close by.

Take the offer and find a daily workspace. The library (if they have small conference rooms available), small rentable offices, a cafe, etc. If a big part of it is the social aspect then that may be harder to figure out. My friends and I co-work at cafes/restaurants. My run club also has a co-working meetup that they do multiple times a week so you could look for something similar in your area.
I’d take the 40k and find 2-3 times per week a space to work from.
Agree entirely. i've become a regular at my local coffee shop and it's the perfect way to get a little human interaction during the day without having all the distractions of the office or a long commute. I think it'd be worth figuring out how to get out of the house a couple days a week for 40k more!
I meant to say a 20k pay cut
What is it about remote work that you think has been detrimental to your mental health? I know some people go a little nuts never leaving home or interacting with others but I think it's easy to offset that by going out of your way to work in different places like a coffee shop, library, etc... to switch up your environment and get out of the hous.e
I think I would wanna understand why your mental health struggled was it that you did not establish good relationships with your coworkers before hand and it’s easier to do that in the office because we can fix that issue by just opening up more opportunities to interact more casually with your coworkers while your virtual. Like for example, my coworkers and I have a group chat, where we just talk shit all day when we’re on meetings together.. Because it could be an opportunity for you to stretch in a different way than you might be used to because meeting people in person is easy it happens but meeting people virtually is a lot harder to relay your personality, which is less mental health and more on how you communicate
I would do what serves your mental health. Money is not as important
