Think I’ll have to start applying to some places soon then 🤣
I don’t get why anybody would put there on their LinkedIn. In general you should put out feelers or recruiters that reached out to you and keep it confidential. Now they won’t hesitate to fire you if they want to cut.
If you live in an at-will employment state then no, no it would not be unfair dismissal. Also dumb move on your part.

I am not sure if I would ever put up that banner when I am employed, even if I am looking. I don't want to take the change that my manager to find out about and let me go before I find anything.
I wouldn't mention it or bring it up unless he brings it up.

I’m planning to not mention it and I’ll be leaving in a few months soon anyway so it doesn’t matter I guess
I don’t get the issue…aren’t we all open to work at all times? I think it’s a given that any of us would jump ship for a better gig, that’s how the world works

Yeah good point, I’m actively looking and will continue to do so
You can block your boss on LinkedIn if you want stay on LinkedIn or block anyone else LinkedIn
Maybe it opens the door for dialog on what you are looking for. Is there anything they can change that would re-engage you?

There are certain perks that I’d be looking for. I’ve got my yearly review coming up soon so I’ll just speak to him about it then
