Thoughts on Hulu as an exit company?
I have a fair amount of retail experience and have created a bowl to help fellow consultants who are interviewing in retail and CPG. My experience is across a wide range of topics (primarily non technical) and would love to help folks get their dream job. Would be awesome if others can join and contribute their knowledge.

Only you can make that decision.
170K for 80 hours/week vs 145K for 40 hrs/week sounds like a no brainer math to me.
I'd take this deal in a heartbeat.
I've been trying to exit consulting into industry to improve my WLB and more than happy to take a paycut - but guess what? It's actually much easier to land a job that pays more than a job than pays less.
* a job that pays less and you want it.

You need to be making IB money for those kinds of hours. Take the 9-5.
Left Deloitte few months ago have 2 offers north of 285 ( from FAANG). Starting dates are in February, eff it man . Life is too short for BS
D1 what lvl and yoe at Deloitte when u left? Any deets appreciated
Why haven’t you looked elsewhere and apply yourself Vs. waiting passively for a low ball offer like this ? You can easily net 300K TC at FAANG with your experience. Yes, the WLB @ 145K looks good in the short run but based on your history, it’s a bad exit that will tie you down there again for X number of years. Go dust your resume TODAY and apply today Vs. complaining about your low ball offer + existing gig - you’d be glad you did.
To be clear - I am applying and this is what I currently have as an offer. I have given multiple AWS interviews but failed. I ha e also failed a Google interview
If you try to run the numbers on an hourly basis the other gig is more profitable.

You need to leave your job. Unless you’re an IB analyst (who probably could make that amount first year out of college and just being put to dumb slide work), the ratio of hours to comp doesn’t make any sense. For the offer you have, try to negotiate so it is at least comparable to what you make now. If not, try to find another role elsewhere. But regardless - leave your job
No. $145k is low for a D manager. Don’t take it. Look for something else
What's high and low is all relative. I'm single and no dependent so I don't mind grinding it out to make that $$$.
However, not sure I can do these hours while having a partner and kids ( no thanks). On occasion, I drop by to help my sister & brother in law with their kids. Man they look like death ! Between the hybrid learning, working and house chores. Money isn't their problem, it's TIME.
I think you should take an honest look at your schedule. What did you do for 16 hours wrt work today? You are probably not as important as you think you are and can cut half your meetings out. Learn to delegate and trust others.

Understandable.
I’d still take a look at meetings and where I’m spending my time and if I truly need to be in it, or if a quick ping to someone for follow up action items. I was amazed at how little I was missed when I started doing that. It’s a delicate balance and a learned skill but it’s made my WLB 10x better. Manager with 10 yoe as well so I definitely understand.
HCOL or LCOL? 145 seems low, but could be pretty good in a smaller city.
Stay in consulting for now, but start looking for a decent exit. With 10 YOE, you can get your current comp for 45 h/week at a random company.
How old are you? If you want to coast for the rest of your career, sure, otherwise no. Work on pushing back at your current job, or switch to a different firm, or industry, for at least same pay.
I’ll take the job if you don’t want it!
Take and if you want to earn more money, get a side hustle where you control the hours.
Thanks PWC1. Exactly my thought. It will give more time for my other stuff
