You can be honest, but freeze it in the correct way.
Say something like ..
“I realized the pace and structure of the role weren’t sustainable for me long term, and I made the difficult but necessary decision to step away to focus on my well being. I’ve since had time to recharge, reflect, and I’m now more intentional about the kind of work environment I thrive in one that’s high-performing but also sustainable.”
Or you can keep it on the vague side and say something like ..
“It ultimately wasn’t the right fit. I learned a lot, but I’m now looking for a role where I can contribute meaningfully in a more aligned environment.”
I would've been lying through my teeth if I was you. I usually believe honesty is the best policy, but in this scenario, I'd make an exception. No matter how valid your reasons were, this is always going to be viewed as a red flag by employers.
I’d be honest, but strategic. Say you learned what kind of environment helps you thrive.
I’d say “health related reasons”. The type of health issue is none of their business, and they may even be stepping into a danger zone if they press you on it.
You’re right… maybe Personal reasons then, in the end they don’t have a right to get into your situations
I can totally relate but I was on deck for years.
