I have a button standing desk, an ergo chair (it’s not Herman Miller but I’ve never noticed discomfort), a monitor that’s an older dell model with off color accuracy and sits on a stand. Have a keyboard, mouse, intuos tablet, iPad. I do motion graphic illustration etc. Any suggestions? An Apple Watch? lol

I have been short-listed among 2 other applicants for a great UX/UI role.
The role is very UI focused, am a jr but the role is Mid weight, yet I still got through! Yay

My manager keeps pushing me to insert myself earlier in the projects to be more conceptual, & I try, but I’m still being brought in late, without basic context from CDs. He says he can talk to them but it’s better if I do. He says he’s always available for support, but when I reach out, he’s impossible to reach. I can’t grow & get promoted without space and support from my team & I don’t want be too aggressive & have that negatively impact how my teammates see me. I feel stuck, any advice?

The gig posting said it was a couple months (until the end of june) but when I interviewed they said they were actually gonna extend me until next February. Hello! I need advice. I have 5 years of digital marketing, project and team management experience. I’ve been doing design work w/o realizing ux/ui was a career since the beginning. I didn’t keep record of those projects but I created a portfolio to show proof of knowledge/skill but it’s not lengthy. I know how to use design software, wireframe, prototype, and I do feel like a lot of my knowledge/ skills are relevant. Should I be going after Jr, mid or senior lvl UI roles?

I had a really weird interview for Creative Director today.

It’s a small startup. HR interviewed me and asked all the hard hitting questions (how do you get design inspiration, how do you deal with design roadblocks, what sets you apart for this role?) which I thought was odd for a screening interview.

They made some affirmative noises then said the next step would be a design test (one pager) which I would present to a panel of interviewers including the CMO.
Anyone else think this is odd?
