Once establish they grow relatively easily even indoors. Use a normal insecticide and south facing exposure. The plant will struggle though the winter, but come back strong come summer.
I’d love to put that shot in the Planet Art section on my Climate Crisis website, reclaimplanetearth.com. If that’s OK with you use the hashtag #reclaimplanetearth.com and it. Should end up on my site. Just be sure to name this plant, tell me where it was shot and we can credit you unless don’t wantvus to. Hope you can keep it alive through the winter.
How lovely!!
I bought a healthy potted one and it had two flowers. I have kept it inside in my south facing window, because I worried my south facing balcony would make it to dry since I travel for work part of the week. It has not bloom sense and every flower bud it gets turns yellow and crispy before it blooms. I can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong.
TLDR; yours is amazing!!!
hmmm… over-watered or under-watered? check it’s roots, make sure it doesn’t have root rot. There’s a couple apps that you can take a photo of your plant and it will tell you what’s wrong with it. I wish I had more advice, I’m still learning how to care for my passion flower as well. Interestingly, my mom also has a cutting from the same plant in her window, she kept hers inside as well and she said it has never bloomed but looks healthy. Maybe they don’t like being indoors? I had a friend in high-school who had one potted in his green house and I remember he telling me they struggle in doors.
Wow. That looks amazing !
Can you eat the fruit that comes off it? What does it taste like? I saw a big vine of that by the side of the bike path the other day (I’m in Southern California) with beautiful orange fruits as well. It was stunning
yes, you can eat the fruit once ripe. you can also make tea and other medicinals from the leaves, vines and petals
D1, you would be amazed how much being outdoors for even a few hours a day can make your plant grow faster. On the day you aren’t traveling keep your plant out in a little shade and watch the transformation, remember to bring them in when you travel.
This is such a cool flower!!!
