Commercial SC salary at D with top 7 MBA is in the 160s, and bonus will almost def be lower than what he's making. They're hiring like crazy right now so worth shooting his shot and seeing if he can negotiate up, but unlikely he'll be able to get TC at the SC level that will make it worth leaving the sure thing he has. However, if consulting is what he wants to do long term and MBB is not an option, D is a good training ground to make the career switch.
He’d be brought on as a specialist master probably. That’s what we usually do for pharmDs. As D1 said his current salary is in line with the higher end of SC, so I’d expect one level up for him to move. (SpMaster is same as manager but without expectation for consulting experience).
