My wife is hosting a bachelorette weekend in Miami. She is getting a one bedroom for her and the bride and hosting activities there while asking other attendees to get rooms. She wants a balance between style and affordability as to not price others out. Which is the best option? Edition, W South Beach, Cadillac Hotel, and Ritz.

WHY?! We are in the middle of a pandemic with no end in sight because of this attitude!!!!

Affordability is relative... but I wouldn’t call the Edition affordable unless you’re comparing to the St. Regis, it is however my favorite Marriott in Miami.

like

In terms of amenities that lean to party, it’s definitely the Edition. They have ice skating and bowling, but sexy. The spa is also great and they have a club (probably not open because of covid). Also, in terms of hotel restaurants, Matador Room is by far the best of any of the Marriotts in the beach

like

I love The Confidante and The Betsy Hotel. Agreeing also that affordability is very relative in Miami/Miami Beach

like

Just did a sort of “honeymoon” in Miami and stayed at the Edition. They were amazing and gave us an upgrade to a suite even though we booked a normal room on points. Killer location and the staff plus the crew at the pool and beach were incredibly nice. Maybe get their room there and allow others to choose there or close by based on comfort level?

Also really like the one hotel. You could book one of their rooftop cabanas for bachelorette drinks.

Edition is great. I’ve stayed there with my gfs before but I wouldn’t call it affordable.

W seems more fun for bachelorette party no? I guess depends on what crowd you’re going for!

The Marriott Stanton south beach is also a good option. I’ve stayed there and it’s a great beach locale and nice pool.

Last time I was at the Edition the Jonas brothers were there with their SOs (and security by their pool cabana.

Thanks for the thoughts FB, helpful as always!

New to Toronto, moved to the west end of town/ just past - in Etobicoke. I celebrate my 40th a few days after NYE/NYD - would love some recommendations on moderately priced but nice ambiance restaurants for myself + husband, and my extended family. Everyone is scattered throughout (Hamilton, Barrie, Lyle, Newmarket, North York). Don’t want anything too fancy but don’t really know where or what is good and not downtown.

Any recommendations? (Open to GTA of course).

Any resume writer referrals? I’m trying to make the jump into project management. I have 13YOE managing cross-departmental projects and people, and I’d like to shed the general EA work of calendars/travel/expenses. But recruiters just see my most recent role is EA and that’s all they want to talk to me about. I’m hoping a better written resume will help target algorithms to get my resume viewed for other roles.

Ribeiro: LOVE this wine region from the Galicia region of Spain but it’s hard to find anything coming out of this place. Not to be confused with Ribera del Duero, known for Vega Sicilia, lot of white wine cones from this region. The Treixadura grape is prominent, and it has granite soils and a rich bubblegum like flavor. Lovely minerality and acidity.

Rant: my boyfriend is so annoying with this diet! I GET IT. You want to eat healthy! But when you have your friends at our place every other weekend they order pizza and you devour most of 2 boxes! But when I want pizza or wings or burgers I have to hear a whole spiel. “Can we pick something healthier?” “You can order ___ but can I choose something else on the menu?” “I don’t knowwww” like MY GOD. Then if I order something for me he wants half or bites! Sick of it!!!

For all you retail people...are you experiencing a very slow holiday season? I am a retail manager and I feel like this season has been freakishly slow. I need advice.
I work at an manufacturing company as a technician. My job title is a technician but they use me as an engineer as-well. There are three techs overall in the company. My boss who hired me understands what my degree is in so he uses me to design parts and write reports. The plant manager doesn’t know my skills so anytime I’m in the office working he calls me to the floor to do something the other techs can do. Should I have a talk with the boss about it? (I ran out of characters)
