Need advice. 2022 grad in specialized transactional area that lateraled ~half a year ago (thought there wasn’t much of a future at the firm I was at + 4 day RTO that involved an hour commute due to VHCOL). At current firm, had to take a class year cut and ended up implementing a 4 day RTO anyway (wasn’t told this while interviewing so felt bait and switched plus a class year cut). I’ve billed over 900 hours since I started. Like the group/partners, but should I lateral again if offer in hand?

Is 900 hours in half a year a lot? It sounds like you are on track for 1800/yr and that seems fairly reasonable.

Every partner in my firm says “don’t worry about being a year behind” but I hit my hours last year and instead of getting a 30k bonus I got a 20k bonus. That may not sound like a big deal but I just had my first baby and worked my ass off last year. I could’ve used the extra money because with mat leave this year I’m definitely not getting a bonus.

Essentially, I’m scared of unknowns at another firm. I’m pretty much only considering this because of the class year cut (have been told I’ve been doing great work/have taken the lead on all my deals) and the 4 day RTO (may have not lateraled had I known this firm was going to do that too). Am getting a ton of recruiting emails for my practice area / had a good callback at another firm

Hello Guys,

I joined
Cognizant recently, the project interview calls which I am getting is not from my base location.
I have the location constraint, should I wait for the right opportunity or raise this concern to ADP team so they can look in to it?

As per ADP policy, one should not have any constraints and take the project as FCFS basis.

How does everyone bill for family law matters? Do you always bill hourly or is there some flat fee, monthly or quarterly fee structure that could work, even in contested matters? I have cases that the clients end up spending $20-$40,000 on a contested divorce and this is really out of their budget. I feel that if my firm could charge a flat fee of $10-$15,000, it would still be beneficial from a client predictability and volume standpoint and would generate more referrals.
