Second to you can do it at the airport. Recommend you do ahead of time though.
Try using their text chat support. It was surprisingly helpful for me when I needed to rebook a flight earlier this year and wait times on the phone were 4+ hours.
In my experience, assuming infant is flying in lap, if the flight is domestic, you don’t need to do anything, can add the infant at the airport. If the flight is international, you need to wait in queue as the infant is charged 10% of full fare ticket.
Not in US for domestic flights. Done several times both with AA and WN. Last time this past weekend!
