Need to vent. I’m frustrated with recruiters that don’t follow up and frustrated with myself for apparently lacking something to land a new job. Completed three rounds of interviews (plus a recorded interview) at Edward Jones only to be ghosted. Not even a simple decline email. I’m qualified for the role and felt good about the interviews so I don’t understand what I’m doing wrong. Trying to remember these things happen for a reason.. 😑

Asking advice from a recruiter: I’ve been recently laid off :( This week I took some time to reflect, talk to friends and family. I want to be more thoughtful on my next move and although interviewing right away would be logical I feel I want to take a break and some time for myself. Take a month or two off working and use that time to plan thoughtfully on my next move. Would having that gap in my resume be an issue when I go back to the job market?

I interviewed at a law firm and had my final round last Friday. The Tuesday afterward, I got a call from the recruiter saying the firm won’t have a decision for another week. I believe they’re interviewing other candidates. Does that make me second or third choice? And does the fact that I’m working with a recruiter hurt my chances of being selected due to the commission? Should I hold out for the offer or is 1+ week a sign that I won’t be selected?
