If you need help from strangers to make your decision, then you SHOULD NOT be going to law school. Thx.
Unless you are 100% convinced you want to go to law school do not go to law school. Making that decision now will save you a LOT of $$$ and heartache in the long run. If you are one year out of college, your whole life is a very small part of your life (at this point in time) in the grand scheme of things
This was me 10 years ago- got into some good schools but nothing top tier. I knew I wasn’t going to graduate top of my class. I was nervous about the loans. I decided that if I got an offer at a consulting firm I would defer my acceptances to law school for a year and then reevaluate- I’ve never looked back. Consulting allows me to do all the things that would have enjoyed as a lawyer- research, crafting arguments, finding loopholes and work arounds, strategic planning- and I have no debt and a good salary. Give consulting a try, I can’t think of a downside to deferring for a year. You won’t get to say goodbye to the billable hours goals though, unfortunately!

Is it a top law school?
Rising Star
Yes, unless you have a bleeding heart to help people and don't care about money.
I practiced law for 10 years. Then went to get an MBA and now I'm a consultant.
Agree with all the previous posts. My spouse went to law school, I did not. Turns out he hated working at a law firm so is now at EY also. He uses his law school skills but isn’t a practicing attorney. I make slightly more and have no debt vs. he makes slightly less and has >$200k 😔
Billable hours is still a thing in consulting...
Do you already have an offer?
Ive already accepted a consulting offer. Just making sure I’m making the right decision.
