My wife started as an M at Accenture earlier this year coming from industry. I’ve never worked at Accenture or any b4, but I had to explain to her how up or out works. She also didn’t know that she came in with 24 months at level and what that meant. Really surprised none of this was communicated during hiring or by her manager.

I also like The 48 Laws of Power. Be careful though, you can either use this book to be a total jerk or use it to understand the total jerks you will inevitably work for/with. Use the power for good 😁

In consulting your title and role usually have nothing to do with each other.. but if you are truly taking on a new role, "The First 90 Days" is pretty good.

Clear expectations go a long way.

Choose a good Sr Mgr/Partner you like to work with and stick to them. Let them know you will do everything/anything possible to get their job done. Win their trust and you are golden. No amount of reading will help if you don't do this.
