Hey everyone. I am a 2020 B.tech IT grad from VIT vellore. I have worked at DXC Technology for 15 months and quit in October. I gave 2 interview rounds at amex for Business analyst role and today got a call from the recruiter that she received mail from Amex that I’m selected and there would be a salary discussion probably this week. My question is, if she said that is it certain that I’ll be offered this role and if yes then is there a chance that my gap months can hamper my chances in hr round.American Express

Your Uber card is trash.
Chase Sapphire Reserve, United MilagePlus, or AMEX Gold Premier are in general the best travel cards. AMEX Platinum may be worth it if you want a shortcut to Marriott/SPG and retnal car status, are a frequent Uber user, and fly to airports with Centurion and/or Priority Pass lounges.

The Marriott card is a crappy card man, let's not give bad advice to the newbie...
If your firm gives you a corporate AMEX you may want to get your own personal Amex and combine both point pools earned by you on the business and personal cards
Double check to see if your firm lets you book work related activity on personal card first.
Agreed, Marriott is not great. I use United to get into the club (450 a year so it’s expensive) and Capital One. That said, EY does not allow for business travel so I use for personal use and acquire points for travel
There was a time that the Marriott card was good, but a number of game-changer cards (CSR, Citi TYP, improvements to AMEX Plat benefits, etc) have been introduced that outperform in terms of total value. Marriott also has continued to devalue their loyalty program (there's a reason Marriott points are derided as 'Marriott pesos' in the card churner community), and there's a lot of uncertainty as to how the SPG merger will impact Marriott's elite beneifts and loyalty program.
Going with a card that transfers to many travel partners is also a good way to play a minmax strategy for points accrual and spending. The flexibility in redemption allows for hedging against devaluation of any vendor's point redemption schedules, and the ability to maximize redemption value by allowing choice of the vendor with the best value for your points.
We do have a corporate AMEX, but I’d rather get much more points from my Uber card
Lol this is simple the marriot chase card
If you’re consistently staying at the Marriott every week, why is the Marriott card a crappy card?
Amex platinum is the best hands down for those who travel frequently for work. Plus you get delta, centurion, and priority pass lounge access
Why the Marriott card is bad: Poor earning rates everywhere outside Marriott; lower earning on spending at Marriott compared to the CSR
