At peak formula consumption, probably was about $30-40 a week for formula.
Second Similac proadvance...that molecule is the closest in structure to human milk oligosaccharide. It is $34.99 at stores lasts us 10 days to be exact. At BJs or COSTCO it should be slightly cheaper. Plus sign up for Similac strong mums and get $10 off coupons. Hope this helps.
Second this!

I used Kabrita goat milk based formula. Whole Foods sells it but get the starter pack from Kabrita.com which comes with coupons. This way you can see how your baby tolerates it and then order in bulk from Vitacost. I think they give first time users 15% off so bulk order will give you the biggest upfront discount. Always check Vitacost regardless of which formula you end up going with for their pricing.

I use HiPP Dutch and get it from organic starts. It’s 46.99 per can for a giant can (bigger than what you see in stores like 2-3x more) and if you buy in bulk the price per can goes way down
I used Holle. Agree buying in bulk is the way to go. The shipping kills you. But I loved the formula. Apparently if you are in NYC you can buy local. It wasn’t anywhere near where I am
Rising Star
I think the Similac Advanced one from Costco was $35 & lasted us a week and a half or so when we did all formula. They go on sale and wed stock up too.
We researched ingredients etc and that was the best one for us
I personally found it easier to breastfeed than formula feed in the middle of the night. To me it’s so much easier to whip out the boob and feed even in bed laying on my side with the baby than get up, go to the kitchen, turn on all the lights, baby screaming in the background, heat up water, wash the bottle, mix in formula, etc. exhausting 😞... I also had a toddler and newborn at the same time this year. I would pump during the day while I worked but that was tiring to me. I gradually switched over to formula because my supply ran out though. I use Enfamil Neuro-Pro but with my first I used Pure Bliss by Similac.
Baby brezza saved us
Agreed you will spend on average $30-40 a week if you buy a brand name. H‑E‑B here makes store brands that are comparable to Enfamil, and they’re about $15 for a container which will last us about 5-6 days versus the same size Enfamil which is about $30. We use 36oz worth of formula per day though (once water is added and mixed it will make 40oz of formula...so basically 18 scoops per day). Our son is 6 months old and just beginning (barely) solids.
A good measure is about 2oz of formula for every pound of weight, but usually not over 32oz for the first 4 months.
Excluding European brands - as others have said, assume about $40/week
