Yeah…that sounds like my past 5 years - all my ‘personal days’ that I take off are typically taken up by a sick child, a nanny that calls off or a parent that needs assistance. Five years - not kidding. The only thing I tell myself is that this is a season. In a few more years, I will be wondering where everyone went. Hang in there, but trust it really is only a season!
Two was the worst age for illness for us. By three, their immune systems are starting to build a little, and we found illnesses were less frequent or at least a more rapid recovery.
It’s going to suck for this next year or so, but it is temporary. Mine is now five and he’s had one cough this year (it’s currently winter where I am, so not a bad effort!) and one day off school. Hang in there, it does get easier!
No words of wisdom, but am in the exact same boat. For my kid, it triggers their asthma as well. It’s exhausting, and like Groundhog Day. I’m hoping it’ll pass (for us it’s been a year now) and am working on trying to reframe it as best I can so that life can be somewhat normal. Therapy helps.
