Chief
I don't know about the city you live in, what kind of area it is.
But I can tell you "investing" in land is no more a good idea, worst if done using a loan.
Depends on a lot of factors
1. The area you're staying in. So you can assess the real estate market there.
2. You'll have to borrow a larger sum if you plan to buy a land and then construct.
3. Bank will finance any of your project but you'll have to put down more down payment if loan amount increases.
You can also claim deductions in your income tax while paying Housing Loan interest.
Suggestion: Get loan from any bank but make sure the interest is reducing and there is no pre closure charges. Housing Loans are hot rn so it is a good time. Wish you the best!
I am not sure that taking a loan for Investment is a good idea in a illiquid asset like property.
Have you done any risk analysis . If you loose your job will you be able to pay off debts without any stress.
Is it good to put all your eggs in single basket.
Are you aware of other Investment avenues other than properties.
Do you know what diversification means
Ask these difficult questions and then decide.
Thanks for the responses,
I'm more inclined to build a new flat on top of my current house to stay independently as work mode mostly going to be hybrid in the companies but parents are insisting to have a backup property as land , taking loan and buying a land doesn't makes sense to me as well, posted this query just want to get second opinion on this.. thanks 👍
