I’m a Bitcoin bull, and believe it will eventually be a hedge against inflation...

But right now this thing moves in line with the market :(

Does it shake your confidence at all that once bitcoin stops going up people just invent new coins to YOLO into? Seems like there’s a hypothetically limitless number of possible coins and a limited potential crypto market cap (though it may be much higher than it is now).

100% true, but I think Bitcoin has first mover / brand name advantage. Plus it’s at $1T market cap so it’s proven itself to be somewhat reliable (so far).

Next step would be to convince people that this doesn’t have to be a currency to thrive, it could just be a store of value and replace gold. Too many people still think the only path to success is to replace the dollar.

Need help on how to invest. We are positioned to pay off our house later this year. Expect to work for another ~20 years. 401k fully funded and have some company stock investments maturing over the next few years, but no investments outside of that. Kids have a prepaid college plan for certain schools. Emergency fund is solid. Where should I look to start investing? I have fidelity for my 401k, would they be good to open a taxable investment account with, or are there better options?

I am doing a back door Roth IRA through Vanguard and while everything makes sense to me, I am unsure if an additional $6000 be invested for a non working spouse. We satisfy the criteria but two questions - 1) Is this still valid I.e., $12k can be invested for 2021? And 2) Any insight into how this is done - Vanguard doesn’t let me add more than $6k as it’s above the individual limit. I tried searching the bowl for specific answers but wasn’t successful. Inputs appreciated.
