Oh look it’s Thursday and LGA has a ground stop. Shocking.

You can always look up current delays here: https://www.fly.faa.gov/ois/

As of this writing, LGA is only able to handle 56 departures and arrivals total per hour, or about 70% of capacity, with average delays of 171 minutes with winds in the 20-30 MPH range with higher gusts.

Translation: lots of the usual BS with the New York airports tonight, with high winds to top it off.

I flew into LGA last night. Scariest descent of my life. With how windy it is, it’s good they’re stopping.

like

Jesus I can’t even see what’s going on in that video

Do yourself a favor and download flightaware. Gives great updates on flight and airport status. Ended up w /about 1 1/2 hr delay. Bumpy descent but was bearable. Definitely been on worse flights.

like

Everyone getting delayed? Flying at 5:30 to arrive at LGA at 7 and no delay yet

Delayed by about an hour, not too bad

Delayed 1.5 hours now 🙄

Cancelled to LGA

Delayed just under 1.5 hours as of now

delayed 1 hour (so far) flying out of LGA

McKinsey & Company Just had the first of my final round interviews with McKinsey & Company. A bit taken aback as the interviewer specifically asked me to share a PEI story that I have not shared with the previous round interviewers. I have not heard of other case partners who had the same experience and they were usually able to share the same stories as they did in the first round. Any insights on this? Thanks much!

A quick note about what I’ve experienced, in my decade long career, is the real advantage of MBB or FAANG - it gives you a shot at stretch roles that are outside your expertise. Not all the time or even most of the time compared to better candidates with specific experience for the role but gives you this wildcard shot at a vast array of opportunities.
