Are we all fucked?

Hi fishes! I volunteer with The Art of Good, a creative collective helping small businesses affected by the pandemic. They are seeking a little help from a media professional. Need an SEM POV for a small business looking to change their name and relaunch their brand. This is non-paid. More about giving back while in-between gigs. :) If you can help out or want to learn more, please reach out to me via LinkedIN. Thank you!! www.linkedin.com/in/karenkohn/

Freelancing means doing your actual creative job plus your own billing, taxes, sales, sales pipeline, producing, communication, etc. Find some clients, sell yourself, get some gigs. Then you will be ready?
and freelance…..what? Writer, AD, strategy, “senior managing”…would help to know specifics.
What’s your superpower? Why would a client say “yes” to you? The harder part of the business is getting the business. If you can do that, then freelance or bring the business to an agency that will reward you for it.
Network, network, network when you’ve a solid portfolio and known to be good to work with. It’s either you’re so good that people line up to call you, or you call them to get on their waiting list.
What does "savings" mean? Do you have other liquid investments that are not in cash? Look into "FIRE" and read about early retirement/financial independence and how people can build a moat with money they already earned. If you have enough money invested in the stock market AFTER TAX (not 401k or Roth money you cant easily touch before 59.5), you can safely pull out a small % per year as a backstop and you will never run out of money. If you have no source of passive income like that or real estate, this is a dangerous plan. I have been building a moat for 10 years and as soon as I get to my number that funds half my life, I am out and going to do something else. 2-3 more years and I am there barring a collapse which is always a risk (41 now).
