Seems like the intention is to eventually own so much of the industry, almost every vendor will be internal… also with no new vendors being allowed at this time, anyone doing production over the break must use vendors we’ve already worked with previously. Makes it tricky for everyone on the job.
Yes. And if we don’t use them, we have to fill out an “opt out form” that pings the higher ups at OP. BA cannot release a PO to the outside vendor without the OOF being approved.
There is a lot of crazy pressure on the HOPs and EPs if we don’t award to OS.

Surprised cost consultants and clients are okay with production partners being internal instead of pushing back on this process.
Yes but what outside vendors will bid against an internal vendor? So how do producers go about securing a triple bid?
A major part of a Producer’s job is to bring appropriate vendors to the table and assemble the team. Forcing/requiring internal partners means that a key component of our job and value is eliminated. That’s a big pill to swallow.
Yes, at my agency we are always pressure to use them. OMC studios sucks in terms of quality of work. Producers push them on us.
Trust me, producers hate them too. Unless it's a simple re-cut or internal piece, we always want to send work out. But network profit models built above us force our hand.
