One month back, I resigned cuz my mother is unwell and she needed assistance,Now recently my brother got laid off..so I thought to withdraw my resignation.. Yesterday I spoke to the manager I willing to withdraw my resignation..he was like the process has been completed mean while I spoke to a HR,she said you will have tym till your last day but manager was saying the process has been completed.he was lyk we cutting off heads..he said he will look into it..what are the chances he will agree??

It seems like every time I log into LinkedIn the people who are “starting new positions” are people who already had jobs in the first place. I’m honestly ready to just give up. Unemployed for 8 months bc of covid layoff. Like what’s the point when companies see me as less valuable than those that already have jobs. How do you guys hold up? I understand life isn’t fair, but there just seems to be no end to this.

Does anyone think it’s weird that my firm is bending over backwards to try to keep a first year staff from leaving the firm after she was rated a 2 this year. But now she’s trying to leave and they keep trying to push her to stay saying she can be a partner in 8-9 years and laying it all out in detail. The issue is they laid off other staff (all but her) so maybe that’s it? Find it very odd.

Is it any surprise we’re seeing mass layoff in tech? Years of rich friends hiring rich friends with no work ethic has lead us here. I know way too many tech people who work maybe an hour a day followed by errands and traveling. A lot of getting in these places is who you know, apparently that doesn’t work out like it used to. The amount of people who worked for Meta, Apple, Amazon, etc for a few months / maybe a year is astounding. it’s around that time frame a boss can tell if you’re worth it
