One of my friends got laid off from IBM yesterday. Need urgent help to get her in somewhere. Salary or profile can be adjusted, but somehow need to squeeze her in somewhere. Any suggestions?

My LinkedIn feed was absolutely filled with layoffs today. What happened? A month or two ago it was a candidate’s market and the offers were great but now everything has shifted. I was informed that I am not getting a promotion that I was gunning for, and when I pushed back about being fairly compensated for my work the response about it not being a good time to ask was really ominous. Anyone else feeling bummed?

I’ve been on the bench with J1 for about 3 months. I was worried that because I couldn’t find another project, I would get laid off so I found J2, which pays more, is very meeting heavy, but I really like. I’ve kept J1 because I’m still on the bench doing absolutely nothing and getting paid. Thinking about looking for a role on a project with J1 that’s not along my career path but will allow for me to do work with no calls so that I can manage both jobs. Does anyone have experience or advice?

I was not yet in the job market last recession but I watched my mom get laid off and struggle to find employment during that time for the next 1.5 years. I was wanting to hit the job market towards the end of this year, but now I worry that if I do move companies, the recession could put me in position of last one hired first one fired. Hey fishes- can someone please help me to understand how much time bny takes to process the offer letter after all discussions are done. For me it's been more than a month and still they say we are on it.

Our managing partner says that we should, but all of the writing guides for litigators that I've read repeats the mantra "show, don't tell" and explain that most judges dread such words.
