A resounding No. Dream companies are rarely what you think they will be, and you should never pay for someone to refer you, anyway.
Anyone asking for pay for referral is a scam, and that person should be reported.
You're joking right?
I will like to start off by saying that a referral does not guarantee the job, and also you do not even know if you pay if they would even give you a referral. Continue to reach out to people, or even find recruiters for the company, and do it like that.
No don’t do it
I applied for a position in software development at a large aerospace company recently. A human resources staffer from that company contacted me and strongly suggested that I submit my resumé to a third party to have it 'enhanced'. This supposedly would give me a leg up on being recognized among all the other applicants.
The 'enhancement' had a price tag attached, of course.
I didn't follow through with shelling out for the 'enhancement' and, of course, have had no feedback at all with regard to my original submission.
It's quite the game going on right now with regard to the thousands of applications for any one job. There are lots of bullets to be dodged.
No way Jose!... Look for your professors, and closed friends who are currently working. If you are a member of a community, a club, or a church. They can give you great referrals.
