The offer on the call is almost always the highest possible figure (especially for someone with 1 YOE). This is to get you interested and willing to interview. They will likely downlevel you when the final offer is given and give a fake promise of early promo and salary adjustment, neither of which will happen. They figure that you’ll be psychologically exhausted from the process and accept anyways even though it’s not rational to do so. Many do, so it’s worth their money to use this tactic. It’s a tried and true method by most consulting firms. Discount their original offer by 20% and see if you still want to proceed. No offense, but no one with 1 YOE has any serious negotiation leverage.
They won’t give you a real number until later. Look up what the ZS entry level pay is. That’s what you’re getting.
Yea there is no way they will give you an AC position
Dude/tte, recruiters lie all the time. I remember I was applying for a job and their initial number in the screening call was $130k base. I passed all the interviews with “flying colors” (their words, not mine). Final offer was $95k base. You need to understand how they play the game. A quote is not a verbal offer. It’s an overestimate designed to entice you.
