Hi Applied to PwC Strategy& for a consultant role and havent heard back from a recuiter however, I received an email for a survey asking what am I looking for in the company in terms of their culture, values etc and what other companies I have applied to. Is this a typical process? Not sure if thats the step 1 in the process or I have been rejected. Any feed back is appreciated. I am graduating from Ohio State with an MBA and have 8 years of experience in corporate accounting and finance.
I might be very lucky that I didn’t join Google before the summer as I’m not stressed about potential layoffs… but on the other hand i do feel unlucky to finally fulfill my dream and make it through the recruitment process, only to get stuck in the team-matching stage. And then the freeze.. how long can people stay on the list until they get hired? Or does your place on the list ever expire?Google

Sounds like they accelerated your interview or they want to ensure you can do the work before moving forward with you. The recruiter may have misspoke or didn’t fully understand their process. You don’t really know. Either way, if it’s a company you’ve vetted and really want to work for, why care that much?
Glassdoor, search their website, research the company doing searches on various topics, look up reviews, speak to current and former employees… The list is extensive but these are the top ones usually.
Seems like a red flag
Take home case includes research and ppt making.
I should have provided more details earlier. First of all, the recruiter didn’t have an overview of the whole process- it felt like they figured out as they went kind of thing. Originally the recruiter told me this around would be a ‘competency interview’; and i asked her if competency meant a situational interview or a case interview or any other format. She told me for now it would be situational but she would let me know if there was a change (???). And then suddenly AFTER rescheduling, it actually changed. Like, wtf? I feel fishy.
Genuine question- how do you vet a company? This interview process is already 1.5 month and there have been a few hic cups and i’m genuinely concerned. What is the worst case scenario here? Join the firm and get laid off within a week? Could there be worst scenarios? Trying to see if this is worth it.
