PA Audit to Staff Accountant -> just curious - how steep is the learning curve? and what should i expect my day to day to look like in corporate accounting? I feel like I now have a solid understanding of the PBC schedules we request from the client as an A2 but I don't really have experience making JE's or supporting month end close.

Pretty easy. Most of the work is done in the system. You’ll be fine.

I'm looking for advice from those who have freelanced remotely with an international agency.

I'm based in NYC and have had firms in Canada and England reach out about projects. The agencies have offices in the US but I would be working w/ their international teams (servicing US based clients). I've asked for my standard rate in USD converted to their currency.

Any advice on the best way to get paid? Have you asked to get paid by the US office instead? Any watch-outs for tax season?

TIA!

PMs, do you think consulting interviews are very easy?

I’m an MS Management Student graduating in June 2023. I applied to over 40 positions within the Big 4/MBB and even with extensive networking, I haven’t heard back from any really. I have an offer from a pretty well-known but less prestigious Consulting Firm, but I’m wondering what my chances even are of going Big 4/MBB if I’m not a campus hire. Will they even consider me for an experienced hire a year or two down the road if they showed no interest this time? Any advice welcome!

Should you discuss salary range with an internal company recruiter prior to setting up an interview? With external recruiters it’s pretty easy to talk about the expected range. I am trying to avoid wasting all of our time if i get to the last interview and they are expecting a salary that is too low for me.
