Parent Company likely getting fully acquired and delisted by its PE majority shareholder. Offer made and I anticipate it’ll close over the coming months given the press releases so far.

US legal team is very lean (GC and 2 product counsels) but US is the most profitable globally by far, and I am lead counsel for the main product, as well as as Privacy Officer for the U.S., and lead commercial counsel. 7th year for reference.

I plan on riding this out but can anyone share experiences/advice?

That’s lean enough that you might be fine, plus you’re super specialized, but it helps to know if the new owner has any product/privacy counsel in their bullpen.

like

Maybe, but product counsel have a lot of institutional knowledge. The generalists would get cut first

Will they need you to get the deal done?

The company still needs to operate after the deal, it isn’t getting shut down, so theoretically they will need me for it to operate effectively post-close.

Considering a Product Owner role. Any best practices of what questions to ask during an interview? First phase deals with a virtual Teams interview with the recruiter and her manager on Tuesday. Excited since this is a hop from a Product Analyst role and entails an offer of over $30,000 from what I'm getting now! This would be a permanent full-time compared to my current contractor role that ends in March.

Have an offer from a dream company but I'll need to go in at a lower level. Knowing that I can bring a lot of value to the company (read- I know my worth), I negotiated with the hiring manager to have a level/comp review 6 months after employment. If I hit all my goals (ie, prove myself) within that time frame, I'll get a promotion and salary adjustment.
QUESTIONS:
Should this be in writing in the offer letter?
How detailed should it be? I assume I won't know what goals to set till I start...

How are 1st year litigation associates dealing with WFH? I’ve been having terrible anxiety/panic attacks, and pretty sure my billables wont exceed 110 for April. I’ve been super stressed about it and don’t know how to move on to May with the proper mindset to make up for as much time missed as possible. CA courts are still closed, and I’m worried I won’t be able to exceed (or even meet) my May goal after April.

I’ve practiced litigation in DC for about 5+ years at a larger plaintiffs’ firm, and am considering a switch to a defense firm. Is there any insight to how many billable hours this would require, and how much time that would actually be? What’s the best way to turn down a 2nd interview? During the 1st interview, I learned that the compensation for the role is not within the range that I am looking for and requires 400 more billable hours a year than what I bill now. I’d basically be laterally for my current salary just to bill 400 more hours. I also wasn’t aware that the local office was strictly ID. Firm website advertises lots of practice areas. Any advice? TIA!
