Interviewer is being recruited for high level remote position, but when joining a panel interview, the candidate does not cut on the camera. Big red flag as scamming for jobs since remote culture grew is becoming a big trend

Hi all! I recently finished my Masters in Biology. I worked on a few studies with human subjects as well as animal work. I am hoping to get a job in clinical research as either a CRC or CRA. I previously worked at a doctors office as a care manager for 4 years, but outside of my academic work I don’t have experience in research. What advice do you all have for entering the field in my position?
Thanks!!

I got a full time offer from the company I interned at this summer. However, I have been applying and interviewing at various consulting firms so far. Some of them I won’t hear back until September/October. Is it wrong to accept the offer and then reject it if I get a better offer? I don’t wanna burn a bridge with this company since I really enjoyed my experience there but I have to be smart with my decision since I graduate in December and need an earlier work start date.

In need of some advice… feeling very discouraged. I’m no. 2 in charge and my function and salary is that of a VP (I work for a brick and mortar ASC/physician practice, as well as a telemedicine company). However, we are a small org and don’t use titles like that. I’m trying to move forward and expand into larger healthcare organizations, however I feel I’m being rejected before my resume is even reviewed because of my job title. Any recommendations? Not willing to take a step back

I’m not sure I fully understand Amazons pay structure. I’m applying for a Sr. Customer Success manager role but the base is low. The sign on bonus may help and the go forward RSU’s…but it seems so unstable. What are the pros and cons of working with Amazon?

I've been working here for about two years now, and I have to say, I love my job. The company culture is great and the people are wonderful to work with. But recently, I've noticed that my manager has been asking me to do more and more work on my own without giving me any additional compensation for my time. He just keeps telling me that if I want to get ahead, then this is what I need to do.

I'm not sure what to do here—do you have any advice?

Additional Posts in Work Red Flags

A company didn’t follow through with a scheduled intro phone call. I emailed during the time scheduled to see if something had come up & after as well to reschedule. No one answered me or followed up. I can’t help but feel like this is a little red flag. If you can’t follow though on an intro call… what’s your HR & the rest of the company doing? 😬

What comes to mind when a manager says "we work hard here?"

The hiring manager spent so much time complaining about the previous person who was in the position instead of highlighting what would make me successful in the role

During interview I was speaking to the hiring manager. Felt interview was going well. He seemed impressed by my answers, excited by my skills, and even gave me a tour of the office. At the end, he asked about my home life. When I spoke of my 3 young kiddos, the manager got a little taken back and replied Oh you have children? I said yes ages 3, 5, and 7. He then proceeded to ask me about daycare arrangements and if I can be reliable. Red flag as his demeanor changed and made me feel unworthy.

As a recruiter consultant, I have cringed at the descriptions that hiring managers share as the ideal candidate. Many have expressed wanting candidates who are between ages 25-35 🤦🏾. Like what....?!

When hirings managers ask illegal or unethical questions that is not relevant to the job or skills needed for the role like...
How much are you making at current job
Are you pregnant or have any children
Do you have reliable daycare
Do you have reliable transportation
Do you have a criminal record

Have y'all experienced this?

During the pandemic I lost my job and was desperate. I found a 5 month tax law internship to full hire and applied.
Description: “$20/hr to JDs, $15/hr to JD students”.
This was our convo.
Me: …I graduated from law school a few months ago…
Interviewer: so I’ll be paying you $15/hr if you’re hired… I’ll let you know in a week
Me (in no position to negotiate): umm… okay
*3 months later*
Interviewer: You’re hired! However it will now be an unpaid internship, are you still interested?
Me: *ghosts*

The hiring manager didn't want to move forward with a candidate because of his gut feeling. The candidate had the experience and skills necessary but couldn't put his finger on why he didn't want move forward.

The only answer he could was that she asked if pay could be changed and asked about benefits.

I smell bias all the way
