One 4 year old, we’ve done 2 international and 1 domestic flights a year over the past 2 years (wanted to start earlier but pandemic had other plans), and smaller road trips throughout. Never traveled without the kid and don’t intend to, since we want her to experience the world with us.

With kids we try and do a 10 day or so trip every 18 months with shorter 4 day trips maybe every 9 or so months, and then weekend trips that can be done by car in 3 hours or less quarterly or so.
Current ages are 8, 5 and 2. Started when 8 year old turned 1, we went to Hawaii.
We've not spent any time away from the kids since they have been born. We've each only been away from our kids when I have been birthing siblings- hubby stayed overnight at home and I obviously was with the newborn at the hospital. Hubby has missed 0 nights with our oldest, 1 night with the middle kid, and 1 night with the youngest; I've missed 3 with the oldest, 2 with the middle, and 0 with the youngest. I know lots of people would disagree or frown, but (1) we wanted these kids for a long time before they actually entered our lives and (2) we don't have a village. We have talked about going on a trip for our 20th anniversary (the little one will be 6 by then). We'll see if we make it happen.
A week with kids, after which I feel like I need another vacation, a couple weeks staycation where I split time with kids and having me time with regular childcare in place, a couple short 1-2 night trips a year to visit friends.
5-8 trips a year. Usually 6-7 with the kids and then I try and do a few girl trips and special trips with my husband. We have a 4, 2, 1 and 11 y/o.
Not at all.
We’d like to do 1 week family and maybe a long weekend without the kiddo. Not in the cards financially at the moment.
Got a 7yr old, 4yr old and a 1yr old. Did 2-4 international trips and 3-5 domestic a year with just the first one. Dropped to 2 international a year and 3-5 domestic for the 2nd one and kept that cadence with the 3rd kid as well. Our itineraries are usually road trips internationally and packed to the gills so they are generally not “vacations” as they leave me brutally exhausted. But the time spent together and memories always makes it worth it. We never travel without our kids ever.
I have a 5yo and a 2yo, we try to travel as much as we can, this year we have done: Florida 3 days, Hawaii 7 days, and we have 2 more Florida trips (1 week and 4 days) and Eurotrip 15 days coming up.
Where did you go in Hawaii? Would you recommend?
I never vacation without my kids
I’ve gotten 11 days since 1989!!! Ya - if you escape you’re being selfish- children are a LIFE SENTENCE!!!
A four year old and a 9 month old. So far this year we have done two one-week vacations with kids, one to Puerto Rico and one to London/Scotland. Both were excellent. Weekend trip to Nashville was a little bit challenging. We will likely be doing two more vacations this year - one anniversary trip without kids and one 2 week international trip to see relatives during the holidays.
It varies year to year. 4 year old and 2 year old. This year we’ve done one international trip (our first one as a family of 4). We may do a weekend trip to a water park and that’s about it for 2024.
Last year we did 3 domestic trips. Always with the kids.
We’ve gone to Beaches Turks and Caicos the past 3 years. Super kid friendly. The kids absolutely love it
Is it worth the added cost for the room upgrades? Or is that silly as you don’t spend a lot of time in the room?
Been looking into this as an option for our blended fam of 5.

Without kids probably once a year? Maybe twice? But like an overnight. We just had our 3rd less than 2 weeks ago so that won’t happen again for a bit. Our go to is one of those couples resorts in the Poconos called Cove Pocono Resorts so 1-2 nights with grandmas babysitting is sufficient.
With kids probably a few times a year. This past year we went to Great Wolf Lodge twice and we also did a long weekend with extended family at a large Airbnb house by Legoland. This summer we rented another Airbnb with my extended family and are doing 3 days in the Catskills.
Kids ages are 20 months and ~2 weeks.
3 kids 6 and under. We go on one 1-2 week trip to Hawaii every year and usually one other trip for similar time frame, per year. If international it has been to visit family in Asia, if domestic it’s a roadtrip - example is driving across CA and visiting national parks. My parents have joined us for the majority of these trips. We also try to do long weekends away every other month or so (F-Su). I’ve gone on a few short trips to visit family or go to weddings without the kids as well.
Where in Hawaii do you go? Looking for a good place with beach and pool access for a trip with my 1yo
I have 2 under 5 (4 and 1). We do a lot of quick weekend trips (driving distance). Not really sure how many as it’s sporadic and too frequent to really keep count of. Larger trips, we do 2-3 a year.
Haven’t really been on many trips without the kids. Think in the 4 years, we’ve been on 2 total 3/4 day trips together without them. I started doing more girls trips this year —- been on 2 so far, but still shorter 2-day trips.
2 kids, ages 2 and 5, we’ve had several family trips but yet to have our first away from the kids. In general, my parents live too far away and we wouldn’t trust them with the kids overnight, the in-laws aren’t as involved as we would like and they make us feel like a burden anytime we ask for their help. And we haven’t used any babysitter/nanny long enough to feel comfortable to leave the kids with them overnight.
We’re finally planning on a trip the end of this year/beginning of next to try and get scuba certified, something we’ve both wanted to do since before we had kids - going to ask the in-laws if they can watch them for a week 🤞

We’ve done 1-2 vacations a year since my eldest was 5MO. Now our youngest is 2.5YO and we have become a lot more ambitious, the trips are a lot more fun and rejuvenating (big shifts: toilet trained, more independence, there are less “essentials” to carry every where).
We currently do 1 adults-only vacation (2-4 days).
We’re planning in the next year to do longer adult- only and to start 1 adult/1 kid vacations to get more quality time.
Not sure where will get time or money to do these trips, but that’s the plan.

I have a 3 year old, and we usually do 2 international trips, and atleast 1-2 domestic trips per quarter. We don't do any vacations without the toddler but definitely take staycations with him in daycare! We also travel significantly for work so family vacation even though it's parenting at different location has special meaning for us
Kid is almost 3, only trips to see family. Without support and daycare costing $2k a month there is nothing left in the budget.
We take 2 family trips a year (June and Oct) with my mom. As a couple, we take 1-2 trips a year just us. Our family trips are 1-2 weeks at a time. Our couple trips are 3- 4 nights. Then, we might occasionally have an overnight or a weekend “away” as a couple that’s closer to home.
