Hey Everyone,
I am doing a part time MBA program and for one of the coursework I am trying to understand the challenges people faced while transitioning from WFH to Back to office model.
I've created a small questionnaire and will really appreciate if you can spare 10 minutes of your time for the same.

You can pay rent to your parents to save tax and declare in HRA but only when you're living with them.
If you're living in another city then better to show the rent receipt ?
Yeah I will be showing rent receipts of every month and bank transaction also. Whenever it will be hybrid work I am thinking to go back to my parents house for rest of the days even if its far away. Is it possible to claim my HRA if I am paying rent to my parent in this case?
No one's gonna check, just get a legal agreement made or rent recipts. You'll be tax free on the rent paid. Just say you live with them and rent your room, etc. if someone asks
Why do you want to do that . Paying rent to your parent will add to their income and their income will become taxable . If their income is non taxable then also it’s not useful . You anyway will get tax benefit either you pay to your parent or some other landlord . If I am missing something please let me know I will further add
Newgen what are you talking? Is it even making any sense??
Author is right, those 2.5 lacks under his father wont be taxable as his father has no salary but author would save 31% tax for sure!
