Pay cut but for the opportunity to make better work?

At a place that doesnt make book worthy work—not an acct issue, it’s an agency wide thing. Considering a role at a place that does sexier work, but id be taking like an ~8% hit. Worth it?

I had to rescind my acceptance to an offer at EY back in April because I had a medical issue present for a surgery and I didn’t want to complicate things with time off and changes in insurance and such since it was a scary process in and of itself. I’m healing faster than expected now though, and EY said to reach out if things change but that’s probably standard language. Is it likely that I could get them to re-send an offer? I still see postings for the role online.

I am planning to shift to Data Analyst/Data scientist role. Right now i work for a project where I'm a software eng & we have to maintain our application on C++ code. It is more like support/dev and unit testing combined. Coding is hardly involved and my hold on DS is weak so not sure if I'll be able to crack technical interviews for C++ dev or anything similar.
So is this a right decision to move from application dev role to Data Science/analyst field? Does software engineer gets paid more?

My co-worker was hired in at manager level but somehow “proved” he was actually doing director level work and got a title promotion and salary increase in less than a year. I also went above and beyond my job as well (covering for him for a month while he was away on paternity leave) while taking on other projects outside of my job title and got zip—no raise or recognition. I applied to a job at KPMG and did the first two rounds of interviews, general interview, then case study and competency. Never before have I had such a positive feedback at the end of an interview of the 2nd, both said really like me, I did well etc.

C3A grade employee in tcs. I have an offer from a company for onsite role and placement is in UK as permanent employee but the role given in offer is an entry level one. With almost 11 years of experience, is it good to accept this offer only for the on-site opportunity?
