Grew way too fast and now it’s catching up with us. Also, Chad is fucking insane. They have people interview everyone except him for a reason. He’s a nightmare and the rest of leadership coddles him.
That all said, the CSO is a stand up guy. But strategy could have a stronger role at the agency.
I have a friend here. I can confirm the culture is very different than what is advertised. If you’re looking to grow your strategy chops, do not go. They are anti-strategy.
Joe is one of the coolest and smartest people I’ve ever worked with.
Imagine the movie Whiplash or The Bear with way nicer people. Everyone is passionate. Some of the most passionate people in the biz. You’ll make a lot of work and you will probably learn a lot.
But you’ll sacrifice A LOT of personal life for work. 60 hour work weeks are pretty typical. 80 hour work weeks aren’t all that uncommon either.
I did a short freelance stint there a long time ago, right before the pandemic in 2019. I was pleasantly surprised at the time with how that agency was run. It was quite small in those days and it seemed that they were staying in the broadcast niche and just calling on a lot of really good, older, experienced, freelance creatives to knock every broadcast or SB brief out of the ballpark as quickly as possible. I don’t think they had a lot of FT employees besides the founders and a handful of people.
At the time I figured if they would stay small and nimble like that and resist the urge to grow and later sell themselves to some holding company, they would be the ideal agency.
It’s a little disheartening to hear that they’ve lost their original appeal.

Everyone is on their A game because they care about the work (at every level). Great culture and great place to grow your career. Incredibly grateful for my time there. 🫶
