Ive always heard its very difficult to get work visas there (for Americans, not sure thats where youre moving from). Do you have any/all of that that in place?
Thanks! I hope it’ll be great. Will update here when I do get there! Thanks for taking the time to respond! :)

What market are you coming from? If you live in the US now the taxes aren’t that different.
The ACD title is American. Creative Group Head is the level above Senior. It’s been a while since I worked there but you should expect 125 - 150K for group head. 180-200 for CD.
Salary won’t vary much between a small agency and a big agency. Simply because big agencies there aren’t huge. Like 70-200 people is considered big (eg DDB, Grey, Saatchi&Saatch, Clemenger, Leo Burnett etc). It’s physically a big county but remember the population is 1/10th of the US.

THIS is incredibly helpful! Thank you! It’s helping me tons, and a lot of info to start planning properly. Thanks for the super helpful pointers :)
Look up Esther clerehan on LinkedIn. Shes a recruiter in Oz who often posts job titles with salaries. That should give you an idea.
Fantastic, thank you!

My friend was CD at Monkeys couple of years ago. They could at best match his NY pay iirc. It's a smaller market. They'll do the soft sell thing like you're here for the Aussie quality of life etc which is BS. Cost of living is not low either. The standards of living are high. Overall QOL higher than the US for sure.
So I dunno if it works out better even if they match your US pay.
Monkeys is Sydney unless they opened up in Melb. Melb has virtually no advertising scene.
^^^^ this could be very outdated. But I feel generally, cost of living continues to go up and wages in general are depressed so if anything it could've gotten worse 😂

*spits out latte* Melbourne has an advertising scene.
OP: start reading Campaign Brief and you’ll get a feel for the agencies in Melb & Syd.
