AGREED. I had an "income" (fake) partner proof and nit pick a very simple email to the client through MULTIPLE rounds of review last year. Apparently I was not trusted to send my own email as a 4th year... I thought, just send the damn thing yourself. Can't stand working with that person.
And I guarantee you, their edits made it more confusing
YES - and add 1. If it’s clear you can’t manage matters and 2. You create unnecessary work

As a mid/senior that is sometimes a senior and sometimes a mid this exactly. As a mid ill either (i) do what I want how I want as if i was a senior with small adoptions for the Sr associates preference; or (ii) literally only what you tell me to do with no ownership. I HATE when I get micromanaged but also u want me to be independent.
Wait for the end of year review on your not taking ownership 👀
Yup can’t wait.
I guess we all have that one person that we’re just like oh man anyone but you
So true

Sometimes you have no choice
Oh you always have a choice. I ignore edits and refuse unnecessary edits all the time. Telling folks I only have time for substantive edits is generally received decently, though rarely ever well. Contrary to conventional wisdom, I actually find that seniors respect that you push back.
