PMP certification- do the projects you lead as a SA while playing a manager role count for PMP certification? Do we have to get letter from employer or is there an audit in the process I need to be aware of?

Received offer from BCG for ECT AD role. Read numerous comments about ECT being not attractive compared to Generalists track. Also heard challenges about billability/utilization. Any views/guidance is appreciated.
