AWS cloud application architect. Had an on-site interview with AWS a few days ago and just got an email saying they want to talk to me about next steps. The role is cloud application architect but I want to ask them about the senior cloud application architect role. I have all the relevant experience for that role and feel like I’d be a better fit for that senior role. How should I approach this conversation? Is this even possible? Amazon

I drank approx 1 glass a wine a week in my 3rd trimester. My doc more or less OKed it stating that the AAP recommends 0 alcohol basically because it's easier to do that than research light/moderate consumption in pregnancy 😁
I did it in my first trimester too bc it was the holidays and didn’t feel like pretending. it was my second pregnancy and the glasses of wine were really small. My mom always tells me she had 2 vodka tonics every Friday when she was prego w me. So a little red wine seemed ok🤷🏻♀️
I never did only bc I’m a huge worrier, so I wouldn’t have even enjoyed it, ya know? I think if you’ve done the research and are comfortable more power to you!!
🙋🏻♀️ I had a few glasses of wine throughout.
Never heard of this book, how was it?
It’s a really fantastic book. We referenced it all throughout my pregnancy.
I never did. I honestly don’t have an issue with pregnant mamas who do, but I had some scares early on in my pregnancy and didn’t want to take *any* unnecessary risks.
Same! My journey get to pregnant also included cutting alcohol and some extreme measures so it never seemed worth the risk. I was accidentally served an alcoholic drink 3rd trimester and even just 2 sips I realized the lemonade was spiked. I was so upset.
Yup. After 24 weeks that baby’s important bits were pretty much formed and ya girl had a Sauvignon bland here and there.
I’m not fixing that typo
I was extremely strict, drinking absolutely NOTHING for my son. Like no alcohol, no sushi, no cold cuts, no coffee, no Brie cheese, etc., Absolutely nothing that could be potentially hazardous.
But with my daughter, I ate sushi, prosciutto, cold cuts, soft cheese and a glass of wine regularly. I was responsible but still allowed myself to eat and drink what I wanted. My pregnancy was so much more enjoyable and my daughter is absolutely fine.
I had a sip of wine earlier on but now that I’m almost 3rd tri I would probably have a small glass here and there. Issue is my husband isn’t as big a wine drinker and we aren’t ever in social settings so I haven’t opened a bottle because it will be mostly wasted. I’m saving all my good shit 😂
Loved the book, personally I did not. It’s a very personal choice and for me it wasn’t worth any risk.
Love the book! I would have a drink or two. I also ate sushi, mid-rare steak, cold cuts and my daughter was perfectly healthy.
One thing I took super serious was washing my produce. According to the book I think it was the most serious risk of anything, surprisingly.
I probably had 1-2 glasses of wine across each of my pregnancies, but would have felt comfortable having more... it just wasn’t appealing to me. Not a risk-based decision. Also ate sushi. Also ate medium-rare steak.
Agree. Loved the book and also her blog/perspective in general. She has posted a lot about parenting kids during the pandemic and again, I find she brings a really level-headed, data-based lens to the topic.
My OB told me that, especially past the halfway point, she’d rather I have a small glass here and there if I felt it would help me to relax than be a ball of anxiety. My friends and I would ask each other “how French are you being” as a code for are you drinking wine. Most were, of course in small amounts and later in pregnancy.
I did! Maybe once a week with a meal during my third trimester. I’d do it again!
I definitely did. And cannabis.
I did. My mother actually bought me a French 75 on Mother’s Day when I was about 3-4 mon pregnant and I’ll probably remember that day forever. Also, the doctor said “a glass here or there is ok.” When I told her. I also had 1 small coffee every day after my 1st trimester.
That book is a must-read. Loads of sanity sparing info. I drank a few glasses but not until my second trimester.
Zero during pregnancy but some guilt-followed drinks here & there while nursing. I neeeeed it!
Cheers, friends!!! 🥂🍻🍷🍹
Yep. After the first tri a glass of wine occasionally.
None during pregnancy (I just didn’t see the points but I know plenty of moms who had wine mixed with club soda here and there.)
Breastfeeding- I would have a glass of wine or a beer whenever I felt like it. The general rule of thumb is if you don’t feel drunk, it won’t affect your newborn. Also they say ~1 hour after you consume the beverage it will hit your supply, so nurse before or after that time.
I didn’t drink anything. I was high risk and my baby had a growth restriction and we had some scares. My MIL often offered me wine and said she drank occasionally in her 3rd trimester. Probably would have been fine but I knew I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if I took any unnecessary risks.
I drank red wine, mainly in the 3rd trimester. My OB wasn’t concerned in the least but he’s also very old school.
Definitely had a glass of wine occasionally, but not two at a time.
