Just don’t. Go to industry if you want out of IB, esp with an MBA.
What makes you say that? I’m trying to exit finance altogether and get more into strategy/operations, so getting some consulting experience seems like a good way to start

If you’re at an EB like Jefferies or Lazard it shouldn’t be too hard.
I’m former BCG and only remember one IB vet. He was a military vet who went IB (either GS or MS) and hated it, so he just quit. His MD was like “don’t do that. How do you feel about consulting? I can call some partners I know and see if they’re interested.” They just about all were.

It's incredibly possible. You'll have mo problems. But I would really not recommend doing that.

I personally just felt the ib route offered more opportunities and assurances that I could exit to a great gig. I am in private equity consulting (cdd) so I don't feel that I have a real shot at buy side. And my experience is difficult for some internal strategy teams to digest especially if they don't have a real m&a strategy.
