I interviewed with Firm A months ago and accepted a position to start this upcoming fall. Group leader called me to offer the position back in November 2020. Besides interviewing with partners at the firms, and diligent follow ups notifying them of my interest to get started, no communication has transpired since. It turns out that I accepted a better offer w/ Firm B for personal reasons and won’t be going to Firm A. What is the best way to notify Firm A? Call/email group leader? Call/email HR?
When did the word 'no' become taboo?

McKinsey & Company Hey folks!
Was wondering what sort of life sciences projects does usually the Boston Consulting Group and McKinsey & Company take on?
Commercial, access and pricing, M&A, transformation, implementation? (all of them perhaps?)
Basically, what would someone with an LS background be mainly working on in these firms on a day-to-day basis?
Thanks!
A BCG recruiter ghosted me after she reached out to schedule an interview. How long should I wait before following up? What is the common courtesy to give to ppl at BCG. I don’t wanna come off as too aggressive but I really need to get this interview set as there are other pending confirmations Boston Consulting Group

Crazy supportive and non-competitive culture. What this means is that the very best are rewarded less than ours direct competitors, but those that need more coaching are given time to learn and grow and a tremendous amount of support to do so. The firm tries really hard to make you successful but the bar is also very high.
I agree with everything my colleague above said, combined with a much tighter not culture than our competitors. We have a much stronger office culture, and generally speaking most Bainies have many close friends from the office that regularly hang out with outside of work. I 100% picked Bain for the people.
To the collaborative point above, a part of the firms ethos is A Bainie never lets another Bainie fail, and this is really lived at Bain.
Agreeing with the two Bainies above. “A Bainie never lets another Bainie fail” is really true - not recruiting BS 😊
I’ve also been incredibly impressed by how strong our culture is even globally; the camaraderie holds. Expectations are high but you’re given the support and chances to grow and reach them.
Can’t speak to differentiation vs other firms since I’ve only done consulting here, but most likely, colleagues here hang out outside of work more than your typical consulting firm. Case work is demanding for sure but I think you’ll find more work/life balance in a specialist role (which one are you interviewing for?).
People across the firm (client facing or not) are very professional and polite with those in other departments, though most of the bonding will happen within your department. That said, company global offsites, local office offsites, weekly happy hours, and holiday events are all meant to facilitate culture across departments and functions. I’ve heard Atlanta is pretty tight.
Wow never heard “Bainie” before
