Hello!
I finished my final round(s) for a TAM position at Google (GCP) last week and was told by my recruiter that my feedback was great and that I made a solid impression on the team and am "firmly in the running". I was supposed to hear back this week (according to the recruiter) but he just told me that it's still in the process and that I'll have to wait for another week or so.
Is this common at Google ? I have heard they are notorious for being really slow with their hiring process.

Happened to me with 2 roles. If they don’t respond back, it’s not worth pursuing because it’ll only lead to problems down the road. They could have found someone, are fishing to see who they can get in this market, or have poor processes.
Fair. Agree. That sounds awful.
If you have not done it yet, sending a LinkedIn connection request can be a good nudge for feedback.
**I know... promoting the company I work for, but this has worked for me in the past when feedback/updates were slow.
Sneaky. I like it!
I’ve interviewed at some smaller companies and their HR is basically one person and communications were extremely slow.
Well, I was ok with it. Didn't like the interviews too much and secured Bain the same week ... Worked out alright ...
This is happening to me as well. Recruiters are… recruiters. Do you have their phone number to give them a call and check in?
There are lots of factors behind the scenes that you aren’t privy to that could be playing into this. Stay persistent and don’t give up.
Good point. I don’t have her number, but would be worried about sounding desperate.
I followed up once then let it go!
Recruiters are busy right now. But if it’s been two weeks I think you should send a reminder and ask her for an update. Don’t worry if you sound desperate.

Similar experience here. Some recruiters are just bad at being courteous. They will reach out, i would be interested so i reply right away then — ghosted. This happened with multiple F500 companies in the past 4 weeks for me.
Recruiters treat candidates as simply numbers on their spreadsheet. Unless it is someone they need to contact, they do not care
Similar thing happened to me as well except it was after a first round with a very unprofessional hiring manager. I’ve thought about following up but thinking more about it, would I want to work with this person on the same team as my senior even if I love the company and the pay is great? I decided I probably wouldn’t be happy and just let it go. Anyway, slightly different but just a thought. You’ll get plenty of other opps I’m sure!
