Advice on breaking a lease?
Any Fish who are also musicians?
Hi Everyone,
Was hoping to get a hand or advice. I had submitted an application the Travelers for a marketing position in early November, resume shows received but nothing else. Is there someone that works there that could direct me to a HR email or contact person? Have had nothing but a positive experience working with Travelers in my last two roles as an agent and then an underwriter would love to have to the opportunity to work directly with Travelers. Any help would be greatly appreciate is!Travelers

Ofcourse service line and cost of living are factors, but 135k does sound low. I think experienced seniors come in at that, without added stress of being a manager

My recommendation is to own up to your word! You might get a raise in October like the other guy said. Just go in and perform well, the sky is the limit! I’m joining EY next week. Come and join the team! It’s great company to work for

Solid offer for a SC, but not for a manager. I wouldn’t lateral to another firm as a promotion for less than 150...I’m at 125 as a senior associate, stress of manager isn’t worth the 10k

How much do you make now as a SC at D?
Manager at EY is SC at Deloitte, don’t fall for the name itself!
D: BA, C, SC, M, SM, PPD
EY: C, SC, M, SM, P, PD
This is all really great advice yall! Thanks 🙏🏼. I don’t think I want to give up on D just yet tbh. But I do feel like EY has a better WLB (from what I’ve seen from other so far @SC2). However, my network at D is great - like annoyingly great lol so I think I’ll just need to think about those small things. The other thing I’ve been told is that EY isn’t as well structured as Deloitte which gives me pause.... idk. Definitely still deciding so I truly appreciate any and all input!
SC at Deloitte is generally equivalent to manager at EY in terms of YOE. There is no consultant level at EY.
I say take the money but EY is not as well run as Deloitte, the talent and training isn’t as strong, and your internal teams like recruiting and staffing are less capable.
PAS has been around for sometime and the challenge you may find is that you don’t have the same staffing opportunities.
EY doesnt have the same kind of tech transformation so it’s generally harder to sell human capital work without that. PAS was generally an afterthought at EY.
When I was selling and delivering work at EY, I generally found the partners I worked with to be a bother as they were trying to claim sales credit on deals they weren’t going to be able to tag hours and services on because the programs often weren’t large enough to justify it.
Is this for GPS?
Yes
You can probably get 140-145 then
Okay so how do I tactfully double back? I don’t have the offer letter in hand yet - was told I should get it this upcoming week. So should I just email the recruiter and say “after doing some research I’d like to change my counter offer to 145”?
Position seems to be a lateral move. So take that under consideration. In my experience managers at EY would equate to a SC at Deloitte. In addition I would subtract what you think is going to be your raise and bonus in June (from what I hear it will be substantial) from your offer to determine if the move is worth it. After this deduction I would look for at least a 20% increase.

For almost 7 YOE, this is a reasonable offer. Unless you have a very specialist skillset.
Where are you at now?
Shoot for 150. Rebuilding your network and stress of manager is not worth 135.
Yeah at Deloitte they do since they have a target of sales on their back - at EY you just have to help out but it isn’t a requirement.

Can you elaborate on where you are at D, which practice? And which OP? And whether Commercial or GPS? EY and Deloitte levels are not equal, so I wonder if it’s really a promotion. Anyone that comes form EY to D, gets leveled down, so don’t be stuck on title. I would play chess, bring the offer to D and ask for retention bonus and/or salary increase, see what they do to keep you. People that have worked at both firms prefer Deloitte so make sure you know what you’re getting into.
EY bonuses have a reputation to not be decent - so I don’t really think it translates to a 35 k hike.

When does the offer expire? Please let us know what you decide!

What you currently make now would determine if it makes sense to switch!
Yoe?
6 almost 7 total
