How do you go about having a conversation about transitioning roles to a different department? Who do you talk to and how do you navigate that conversation?

It's sad to see people with 2-3 years of experience getting paid more than you when u have double the experience. 😄 Best part is they are still complaining of getting less. Well I guess you should never settle. New gen is giving a hard time to the experienced folks. I think this is the high time to upgrade your skills. Come out of your comfort zone and start looking for new opportunities. I think this is the best time to switch if u haven't already in quite some time.

So i have been fortunate that i have managed to go through my career without the need for a degree. I was lucky enough to have been hired by one of the worlds top consulting firms, worked with a whole lot of big clients and travelled a lot. It's gotten to the point where I am not even asked about the lack of a degree on my resume. Personally though, it bothers me. But my project is working only on back end with 10 years old tech stack. There is no front end work at all. What should I do?

I got an offer from TCS of 8.13LPA for 4 yoe in automotive domain and accepted that offer. but my salary was revised from 6.2 to 7.74 LPA in appraisal at my current company, now if I compare it with tcs it is I am getting less than 10% raise in tcs . I had a creative Director question my worth and said the only reason I’m in this industry is because of MAIP (as if it was a bad thing). I been unsure how I should handle it and would love advice❤️

What are some tips to establish a healthy balance of work/life and avoid burn out? I find that it’s so easy to start obsessing over the emails and work that is still left to be done.

Question for 2020 summit:
Is there ever a perfect time to switch your role in an agency (Strat to account, account to creative etc.)? Or do you have to start from the ground up?

While in my job hunt, I notice there are much more open roles for mid and sr level creatives. What’s the best way for a jr to get their foot in the door.

I’ve spoken to a POC who says DEI feels exclusionary in her opinion, because she wants to help everyone. Have you ever worked with a POC who are not interested in the DEI initiatives?

Is food something we can discuss for the Summit? If not, can we address tokenism in the industry? Like what are actionable steps to break out of that in ‘diverse’ agencies? It’s hella annoying.

How do you stay motivated in an industry that is seemingly unimportant when put into perspective of other macro cultural trends and world events?

Working at a place with less then 10% POC total. Then watched as the majority of those folks left after less than a year. This virtual work environment has reminded me how much MAIP used to anchor me to a physical sense of community.
